A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK,
DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, IL
TO PARTICIPATE IN A STATE -WIDE ONE -CALL NOTICE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the owners and operators of underground utility facilities, except those within the
boundaries of a municipality with a population of at least one million persons, are required by State statute
to participate in a State -Wide One -Call Notice System (220 ILCS 50/3); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook is the owner and operator of certain underground utility
facilities; and
WHEREAS, JULIE, Inc. (the Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) is the only,State-
Wide One -Call Notice System in operation in the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook wishes to conform to the provisions of the Illinois
Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act (the "Act ") and participate in the State -Wide One -
Call Notice System as required by the Act by joining, JULIE, Inc
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows
Section 1 • That the Village President and Village Clerk are authorized and directed to execute a
membership agreement with JULIE, Inc. Said membership agreement shall conform substantially to the
form of agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A
Section 2- That the Village of Oak Brook shall participate in JULIE, Inc.'s State -Wide One -Call
Notice System and pay the appropriate fee for calls received from JULIE as a result of said participation
The Village hereby states that in so participating, it does accept and agree to be bound by the
Membership Agreement, Articles of Incorporation, By -Laws or Operating Rules and Regulations of or with
JULIE, Inc.
Section 3* That the Public Works Department and the staff of the Village of Oak Brook is hereby
directed to provide all information required for participation in JULIE, Inc., to follow all applicable directions
issued by JULIE, Inc. pertaining to the operation of the system and to cooperate in all manner necessary
to participate in the work of JULIE, Inc.
Section 4- That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to JULIE, Inc 3275 Executive
Drive, Joliet, IL 60431 as evidence of the Village of Oak Brook's participation in the State -Wide One -Call
Notice System
Section 5- That the Village of Oak Brook's participation in the State -Wide One -Call Notice System
shall begin with the passage of this Resolution
PASSED AND APPROVED this 12th day of March, 2002 by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, according to a roll call vote as follows.
