RESOLUTION 2002- IML -LP -R -803
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE
LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Illinois Municipal League (the Municipal League) was established in 1914 as a
statewide resource to serve Illinois municipalities; and
WHEREAS, as part of its mission, the Municipal League provides a formal voice for Illinois
municipalities in matters involving common interests, particularly legislative issues; and
WHEREAS, the Village wishes to formally adopt the positions of the Municipal League on
legislative proposals made during the Spring 2002 session of the Illinois General Assembly and as
expressed by the Municipal League in its 2002 Legislative Agenda, except as otherwise determined by the
Village;
WHEREAS, the Village encourages its municipal employees, particularly its department heads, to
become familiar with these positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted! as
though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That the positions advanced by the Illinois Municipal League on legislative proposals in
the Illinois General Assembly for the Spring 2002 Session and as expressed by the Municipal League in
its 2002 Legislative Agenda are hereby adopted.
Section 3: That the Village Board may, at any time, upon the concurring vote of four trustees, move
to take exception with any position of the Municipal League on any matter.
Section 4: This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED this day of March, 2002, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, according to a roll call vote as follows:
Ayes: Trustees Craig, Korin, Miologos and Savino
Nays: None
Absent: Trustee Caleel
Abstain: None
