Attached is a resolution wider which the Village would agree to participate in the DuPage County On-Site .assistance Program during the period beginning March 1, 1995 and ending May 31, 1996. This is the program which was presented and discussed at the February 13 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting. at which Tom Mefferd of the DuPage County Office of Emergency Management was present. The Village staff is committed to excellence in emergency planning and management, and looks forward to this opportunity to enhance our skills and preparedness. ORDINANCE 95-SW-S-798 ORDINANCE AFFIRMING THE VILLAGE'S OPT). 95-SW- CURRENT DETERMINATION OF SCAVENGER/GARBAGE S-798 COLLECTION LICENSES: SCAVENGER/ GARBAGE According to Section 5111-19-5 the Illinois Municipal Code being COLLECTION Chapter 65 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes states, in part, the "Method of LICENSES disposition: Every city, village or incorporated town may provide such method or methods as shall be approved by the corporate authorities for the disposition of garbage, refuse and ashes. Any municipality may provide by ordinance that such method or methods shall be the exclusive method or methods for the disposition of garbage, refuse and ashes to be allowed within that municipality. Such ordinance may be enacted notwithstanding the fact that competition may be displaced or that such ordinance may have an anti-competitive effect. ..." Motion by Trustee Calzaretta, seconded by Trustee Kenny, to pass Ordinance 95-SIN-S-798 as presented and waive the full reading thereof. Mefferd Deputy Director DuPage County Office of Emergency Management 136 North County Farm Road Wheaton, IL 60187 Dear Mr. Mefferd: The Village Board, at its meeting of February 28, 1995, adopted Ordinance 95-ESDA-G- 552, which amends the Village Code dealing with emergency management and continuity of government in order to comply with State law. The Village Board also adopted Resolution 95-ESD-R-641 revising the order of succession in declaring local disaster emergencies and Resolution 95-ESD-R-§A&which constitutes the Village s agreement to participate in the Du age Uounty un-,Site Assistance Program for emergency management. Copies of these documents are enclosed for your records. We look forward to working with you over the next 15 months as we coordinate the details of On-Site Assistance Program.
