RECOGNITION OF THE
WESTERN GOLF ASSOCIATION

WHEREAS, the western Golf Association has heretofore chosen
the VILLAGE OF OAR BROOK, and more particularly, the BOTLER
NATIONAL GOLF COURSE as its permanent "home', and%
WHEREAS, the western Open Golf Tournament has a long and
colorful history and tradition which has served to benefit the
current game of golf and, more importantly, thousands of ,young
American citizens through its world renowned Evans Caddy Scholar-
ship Fund, and-, '
WHEREAS, the VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK has historically been a
focal point for many and varied a,ational and international sporting
events and contests; andr.
•WHEREAS, the Western Open represents another significant and
distinguished event which will vast certainly augment and nationally,
ehhance the Village's reputation as a model community and as a
center of sporting activity.
NOR, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook that an official welcome be
and is hereby extended to the officials and participants in the
Western Opens
BE IT FURRIER RESOLVED that the Corporate I officials of the
village of Oak Brook, Village Personnel, and Village citizens be
encouraged to individually extend their sincerest welcome and
cooperation to this prestigious event.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
be spread upon the official records of the Village of Oak Brook and
that a copy be presented to the appropriate officials of the western
Golf Association.
PASSED and APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois, this 25th day
of June, 1974.
