WHEREAS, SAMUEL E. DEAN served the Village of Oak Brook for .
fourteen years, first as Plan Co mission Chairman from 1959 to 1967, and
later as Village President from 1967 to 197% and
WHEREAS, during his many years of service to the Village, SAMUEL
E. DEAN gave unselfishly of his time, effort and expertise to the management
of village affairs; and
WHEREAS, SAMUEL E. DEAN, during his long career in public service,
exuded great warmth and friendliness in village relationships, thereby giving
him an unusual capacity to get things done .through voluntary citizen participa-
tion; and
WHEREAS, SAMUEL E. DEAN successfully led Oak Brook in its early
stage of development through the transition from a rural area to a suburban
community with a.unique open space character , always structuring necessary
changes around concern for Oak Brook citizens..
NOW, in recognition of SA14UEL E. DEAN's gift of dedicated
competence to Oak Brook it is fitting; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook representing all citizens that. they do. hereby
dedicate the seat of Oak Brook's continuing government, this Board Roan, in
his honor and the appropriate plaque be placid herein.
BE.IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be spread
upon the official records and proceedings of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois.
