RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E., was first hired with the Village of Oak Brook as Assistant
Engineer in May, 1974 by Department Head, Chuck Littleton, achieving Professional Engineer credentials in May,
1976 and later becoming Village Engineer in January, 1979, and earned a Masters Degree in Business
Administration in 1992, and
WHEREAS, DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E., has served the Village of Oak Brook as a member of, but not
limited to, such prestigious organizations as the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the American Public
Works Association, and
WHEREAS, DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E., has been instrumental in adopting countless Intergovernmental
Agreements with other jurisdictional agencies, including but not limited to, the Illinois Department of Transportation,
the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, DuPage County, the DuPage Water Commission, and many other
surrounding municipalities in DuPage County, and
WHEREAS, during the dedicated rendering of said service DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E. has tirelessly
implemented improvements within the Village, including, but not limited to, roadways, water mains,
bicycle /pedestrian pathways, traffic signal and drainage improvements which benefited the residents of the Village
of Oak Brook along with the establishment of the 10 -Year Roadway Maintenance Plan, the Public Works
Construction Standards, as well as his involvement with Oak Brook's ESDA and the adoption of the DuPage
County Stormwater Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, during his 35 year tenure with the Village, DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E. provided his expertise
and attention to details to the Plan Commission of the Village of Oak Brook throughout his career with the
subdivision development process throughout the Village, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees are of the opinion that a record of such faithful service
should be made and commended for 35 years of dedication and service to the residential and commercial residents
of the Village of Oak Brook
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook on behalf of all the Village employees and all the Village residents, that they do hereby extend their sincerest
thanks and gratitude to DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E. for his many years of indefatigable and loyal service as well
as for the example which he set for all those who came in contact with him
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be presented to DALE L. DURFEY, JR., P.E. with best
wishes for continued success in his future endeavors
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to the said DALE L.
DURFEY, JR., P.E. and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent records of said Village
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage
and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 22nd day of September, 2009
