R-790 - 10/23/2001 - PROCLAMATION - ResolutionsRESOLUTION 2001 -P -R- 790 A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, PAUL BUTLER was a true visionary, whose dream and entrepreneurial spirit was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the long -range planning of the Oak Brook community and its incorporation in 1958; and WHEREAS, PAUL BUTLER donated lands in the Village for schools, a church, and vast open spaces; and WHEREAS, PAUL BUTLER'S vision of a premier residential community supported by a first -class shopping center and significant office /commercial complex has come to fruition in Oak Brook; and WHEREAS, PAUL BUTLER and the Butler family have shown a steadfast commitment to the betterment of the Oak Brook community and to the preservation of the quality of life of its residents; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that the Village name the Village Hall the "BUTLER GOVERNMENT CENTER* in honor of PAUL BUTLER and the BUTLER family, recognizing their vision, their devotion to the community, and their generosity to the people of Oak Brook. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS representing all citizens that they do hereby dedicate the Village Hall to PAUL BUTLER and the BUTLER family and do name the Village Hall the "BUTLER GOVERNMENT CENTER ". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk be directed to spread the resolution upon the records of said Village.
