VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK 1200 OAK BROOK ROAD OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 6LI521 -2255 MENIQRANDUM DATE: September 8, 1995 I TO: Village President and Board of Trustees SUBJECT: Amendments to 1995 Salary Plan and Fair Labor Standards Act Policies i RECOMMENDATION: That the Village Board adopt resolutions amending the 199, j Salary Plan and amending the Fair Labor Standards Act Policies of the Village accordingly. Pursuant to the discussion of the Technology Plan and related matters at the August 22 Village Board meeting.the following resolutions have been prepared and are attached hereto: i 1. A Resolution Approving an Amendment to the Salary Plan for Ikon-Union Employees for 1995. This resolution adds the position of Information Systems Specialist to the Salary Plan at Salary Grade 10(current range$40,046-$54,062). OA Resolution Amending the Fair Labor Standards Act Policies fir the Village of Oak Brook. This resolution adds the position if Information Systems Specialist to the list of positions exempt from the overtime pay provisions of the Act. Based or..the job description that we have developed(copy attached).the advice of our consultants. and extensive surveying of other municipalities,we have concluded that Grade 10 is the appropriate level for this position and that we will be able to attract qualified candidates at this level. Further, we have concluded that the position can and should be exempt from the overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.
