SUBJECT: Release of Closed Meeting Minutes to the General Public from June, 2008 through
December, 2008

RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to approve Resolution R -1044, A Resolution for the
Approval and Release of Closed Meeting Minutes
Background/History:
The Open Meetings Act requires that all public bodies shall keep written minutes of all their
meetings, whether open or closed. The public body shall periodically, but no less than semi-
annually, meet to review minutes of all closed sessions that had not been released to the public.
At this time, it is necessary for the Board of Trustees to review minutes so that they may be
released to the public by Resolution.
Recommendation:
The minutes have been redacted regarding the necessary sections of the meetings from June.
2008 through December, 2008 for those items that are still pending and require continued
confidentiality. The recommendation is to approve Resolution R -1044, A Resolution for the
Approval and Release of Closed Meeting Minutes.

RESOLUTION 2009- BD -CL- MIN -EX1 -R -1044
A RESOLUTION FOR THE APPROVAL AND
RELEASE OF CLOSED MEETING MINUTES
WHEREAS, the Village Board of the Village of Oak Brook has met from time to time in closed
meeting for purposes authorized by the Illinois Open Meetings Act, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of 5 ILCS 120/2 06(c), the Village Board has met in closed
meeting to review all closed Meeting minutes, and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has further determined that a need for confidentiality still exists as to
portions of the closed meeting minutes from the meetings set forth on Schedule A, attached hereto as Exhibit
1
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows
Section 1 That the 2008 closed meeting minutes of June 3, June 10, June 19, June 24, June 30, July
1, July 2, July 22, August 12 -1, August 12 -2, August 26, September 18, October 14 -1, October 14 -2, October
28, November 11, November 25, December 6, December 9 and December 15 are hereby approved, as
written or amended
Section 2 That the 2008 closed meeting minutes of June 30 and July 1 are hereby released in their
entirety as listed in Schedule A, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 3 That the 2008 closed meeting minutes of June 3, June 19, July 2, July 22, August 12 -1,
August 12 -2, August 26, September 18, November 25 and December 6 are hereby released, subject to the
deletions described in Schedule B, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 4 That the 2008 closed meeting minutes of June 10, June 24, October 14 -1, October 14 -2,
October 28, November 11, December 9 and December 15 are not ready for release at this time, as listed in
Schedule C, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 5 That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make minutes identified in
Sections 2 and 3 available for inspection and copying in accordance with the standing procedures of the
Clerk's office, subject to the deletions described in Schedule B
Section 6 That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as provided by law
