RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board award a contract, subject to
staff review, to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Reinders Inc., Franklin Park,
Illinois, for one (1) ProCore SR Series Deep -Tine Aerator in the net trade -in amount of
$21,358.49 and approve Resolution 2013- GOLF - CNTRCT -R -1259, A Resolution
Approving the Award of a Contract for the Purchase of an Aerator for the Oak Brook Golf
Course.
Background/History:
A notice for Request for Bids was placed on the Village website on April 4, 2013 and bid
packages were sent to three companies. Two. sealed bids were opened on Wednesday, April 17,
2013. Staff reviewed the bids submitted and is satisfied with the substitute deep -tine aerator bid
submitted by Reinders. Staff is recommending the purchase of one (1) ProCore SR Series deep -
tine soil aerator to be used in conjunction with sand top dressing to greatly improve heavy clay
soils in the fairways.

Recommendation:
That the Village Board award a contract, subject to staff review, to the lowest responsive and

RESOLUTION 2013- GOLF - CNTRCT -R -1259
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR
THE PURCHASE OF AN AERATOR FOR THE OAK BROOK GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, the Village owns and operates a golf course in the Village's Sports Core ( "Golf
Course"); and
WHEREAS, the Village desires to improve the soil on the fairways of the Golf Course by
purchasing a soil aerator ( "Aerator'); and
WHEREAS, on April 4, 2013, the Village sought bids for an award of contract ( "Contract") for the
purchase of an Aerator ( "Request for Bids'); and
WHEREAS, Reinders, Inc. of Franklin Park, Illinois ( "Reinders") was the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder for the Contract; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, being fully advised in the premises, have
determined that it is in the best interests of the Village and its residents to enter into a Contract with
Reinders;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into, and made a part
of, this Resolution as the findings of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 2: Approval of Purchase of Aerator. The purchase of an Aerator in a total amount
not to exceed $21,358.49 from Reinders shall be, and is hereby, approved.
Section 3: Approval of the Contract. The President and Board of Trustees hereby approve
the Contract by and between the Village and Reinders for the purchase of the Aerator in a final form
approved by the Village Attorney and Village Manager.
Section 4: Execution of Aqreement and Required Documentation. The Village President
and the Village Clerk shall be, and are hereby, authorized to execute and attest, on behalf of the Village,
the Contract and all documents necessary to complete the purchase authorized pursuant to Section 3 of
this Resolution.
Section 5: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
