RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, JIM CARSON has faithfully and with dedication and distinction served the Village of
Oak Brook in his capacity as Village Trustee from May, 2007 through May, 2011; and
WHEREAS, during the generous and dedicated rendering of said service JIM CARSON has
given unselfishly of his time, effort and expertise, contributing significantly thereby to the advancement
and good of the said Village and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, JIM CARSON, because of his years of business experience, greatly helped the
Village weather the economic downturn without interruption of services, worked closely with the Greater
Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and advocated tirelessly for Oak Brook businesses; and
WHEREAS, through his work with the Information Services Department, JIM CARSON was
instrumental in bringing cutting -edge technology to Village operations and as liaison to the Oak Brook
Historical Society was involved in a leadership role in negotiating on the agreement with the Historical
Society to utilize the Old Butler School as a museum; and
WHEREAS, as the Bath and Tennis Club liaison, JIM CARSON acted to bring in new programs
and as Fire Department liaison he co- chaired a committee to look at long term issues in the Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Oak Brook Civic Association, JIM CARSON also gave
unselfishly of his time for the betterment of the Village of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees are of the opinion that a record of such faithful
service should be made and spread upon the records of said Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Oak Brook that the said JIM CARSON be and is hereby commended for his loyal service to the Village of
Oak Brook and the citizens thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, for and on behalf of said Village and its citizens, do hereby extend their appreciation and gratitude
to the said JIM CARSON for his civic service as aforedescribed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to the said
JIM CARSON and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 26th day of April, 2011.
