RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move for passage of Resolution R -1048, A Resolution
Amending R -621 and Appointing an Authorized Agent Representing the Village of Oak
Brook, Illinois in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund
Background/History:
Since 1969 the Village of Oak Brook has participated in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund
(IMRF). Per the Illinois State Statutes, the Village is required to appoint an authorized agent.
Traditionally, the Village Treasurer has served as the authorized agent. However, now that the
Village staff includes a Human Resources Coordinator, Eileen Donahue, who deals directly with
the IMRF, I am recommending that Resolution 621 be amended to reflect the change in the title
of the authorized agent for the IMRF.
Recommendation:
I recommend the Village Board approve the attached Resolution.
RESOLUTION 2009 - IMRF -R -1048
A RESOLUTION AMENDING R-621 AND APPOINTING THE AUTHORIZED
AGENT REPRESENTING THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS
IN THE ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT FUND
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook, pursuant to Ordinance S -192, passed December 9, 1969,
first elected to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF); and
WHEREAS, Chapter 40 ILCS 5 (Pension Code) of the Illinois Compiled Statutes requires each
participating municipality in the IMRF to appoint an authorized agent, and
WHEREAS, Margaret C. Powers was appointed authorized agent for such fund pursuant to the
requirements of said fund per Resolution 93- IMRF -R -598 on October 26, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 94- IMRF- R-621, passed and approved on April 12, 1994, designated that
the Village Treasurer serve as the authorized agent to the IMRF.
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook find that it is in the Village's best
interest that the Human Resources Coordinator serve as the Village's authorized agent to the IMRF.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1 - The person serving as Human Resources Coordinator is hereby designated to be the
authorized agent representing the Village of Oak Brook in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
Section 2: A copy of this Resolution shall be filed with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund in
evidence of the action authorized herein.
