RECOMMENDATION: That the President and Board of Trustees:
1. Authorize advertising for bids for the 1998 MFT Pw.ing Project.
2. Approve the attached "Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and
Highways by Municipality Under the Illinois Highway Code."
At your meeting of September 23, 1997, you approved an Engineering Agreement for Design and
Construction Services with lames J. Benes& Associates, Inc. The project is broken into two parts, one
funded with MFT funds and one funded with Infrastructure funds. Since that time,the engineer has been
proceeding with the design and the MFT segment is now ready to proceed to bids. The attached map
depicts the work areas.
I Funds in the amount of$750,000 are within the 1998 Budget as a transfer from the MFT Fund to the
Infrastructure Fund for this work. Since this item is utilizing MFT funds, we have been working with
IDOT personnel to insure that our design documents and specifications meet MFT requirements.
Additionally, the attached IDOT Resolution must be approved by the Village Board and signed by the
Village Clerk.

The entire ordinance includes a revenue exhibit, an expenditure
exhibit,and a fund summary. The format is the same as that found in
the draft budget document. The only change from the numbers as
presented in the proposed budget document placed on file for public
inspection November 11, 1997 and reviewed by the Board at the
Budget Workshop on December 6, 1997 is in program 341-Garage
Operations. The amounts found in account number 7810-Vehicle
Operation& Maintenance should have been budgeted in account
