RES AUTION
WHEREAS, MACK H. SHUMATE, JR. has faithfully and with dedication and distinction
served the Village of Oak Brook in his capacity as a member of the Board of Trustees from May,
1991 through April, 1999;and
i
WHEREAS, the said MACK H. SHUMATE,JR. has also served the Village of Oak Brook in
his capacity as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals from March, 1986 to May, 1991;and
WHEREAS,the said MACK H.SHUMATE,JR.has also served the community in many other
ways including President, Vice-President and member of the Oak Brook Civic Association; as
President and Secretary of the Saddle Brook Community Association; and as a member of the
American,Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations;and
WHEREAS, during the unselfish and dedicated rendering of said service MACK H.
SHUMATE, JR. has given unselfishly of his time, effort and expertise, contributing materially
thereby to the progress and well-being of the said Village and its citizens;and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees are of the opinion that a record of such
faithful service should be made and spread upon the records of said Village.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook that the said MACK H. SHUMATE, JR. be and he hereby is commended for his
faithful service to the Village of Oak Brook and the citizens thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak

Brook, for and on behalf of said Village and its citizens, do hereby extend their appreciation and
gratitude to the said,MACK H.SHUMATE,JR.for his civic service as aforedescribed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to the
said MACK H. SHUMATE, JR. and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent
records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties,Illinois,this 11th of May, 1999.
