SUBJECT: Award of Contract — Well House #6 Roof Replacement Project

BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: $30,000 is budgeted in Water Systems
Improvements, Water Distribution Improvements (451 -9100)
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board award a contract, to the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder, DCG Roofing Solutions, Inc. Des Plaines, Illinois,
in the amount of $12,500, for the 2011 Well House 96 Roof Replacement Project, and
approve Resolution 2011 -AG -R -1135, a Resolution Approving and Authorizing the
Execution of a Agreement by and between the Village of Oak Brook and DCG Roofing
Solutions, Inc., subject to staff and attorney review.
Background/History:
A Request for Bids was placed on the Village website on September 21, 2011, and sent to eleven
companies. Four sealed bids were received and opened on October 5, 2011:
DCG Roofing Solutions, Inc. $12,500
All American Exterior Solutions $14,300
L. Marshall Inc. $17,500
CSR Roofing Contractors, Inc. $18,150
Staff has received and reviewed references and is satisfied.
The Well House #6 building in located at 31st Street and Meyers Road. The roof on this building
was last replaced 25 years ago. The work consists of tearing off the existing roof and replacing
with a new one. Work is expected to be completed by November 30, 2011.
Recommendation:
That the Village Board award a contract, to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, DCG
Roofing Solutions, Inc. Des Plaines, Illinois, in the amount of $12,500, for the 2011 Well House
#6 Roof Replacement Project, and approve Resolution 2011 -AG -R -1135, a Resolution

RESOLUTION 2011 -AG -R -1135
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK AND DCG ROOFING SOLUTIONS, INC.
TO REPLACE THE ROOF AT WELL HOUSE #6
WHEREAS, the roof on Well House #6, located at 315' Street and Meyers Road, is over twenty -
five years old and in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, the Village solicited bids to tear off the existing roof and install a replacement roof at
Well House #6 ( "Roof Replacement'); and
WHEREAS, the Village received four bids in response to its request for bids for the Roof
Replacement; and
WHEREAS, DCG Roofing Solutions, Inc. ( "DGC ") was the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder for the Roof Replacement; and
WHEREAS, the Village and DCG desire to enter into and execute an agreement for DCG to
perform the Roof Replacement ( "Agreement'); and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have determined that it is in the best interests of
the Village to enter into the Agreement in a final form as approved by the Village Attorney;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into, and made a part
of, this Resolution as the findings of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 2: Approval of the Agreement. The President and Board of Trustees hereby
approve the Agreement by and between the Village and DCG in a form acceptable to the Village Manager
and the Village Attorney.
Section 3: Authorization and Execution of the Agreement. The Village President and Village
Clerk shall be, and hereby are, authorized to execute the final Agreement on behalf of the Village.
Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
