" ' Gi Zn�SPec-F�oN 1` p6PT aRE�'T7o/ll N Iq(its 1,2-13-aa AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN ELECTRICAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT AND CREATING AN ELECTRICAL COMAISSION FOR THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois: Section 1, There is hereby created for the Village of Oakbrook an electrical inspection department. The Building Commissioner shall be and is hereby designated ex-officio the head of such department, who shall be known as the Superintendent of Electricity. Section 2. There is hereby created for the Village of Oakbrook an electrical commission which shall consist of five members as followsa The Superintendent of Electricity shall be a member and the e$-officio Chairman of the Commission; of the other four members one shall be an electrical contractor, one a journeyman electrician, one a representative of an inspection bureau maintained by the fire underwriters, if such a representa- tive resides in the Village, and if no such representative resides in the Village, then the Chief of the fire department, and one a representative of an electrical supply company. If there is no person residing within the Village iho is qualified under arq one of these descriptions, the President of the Village may appoint some other person to fill that position. All members of the electrical ommissi®n shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. Section 3. The electrical commission shall recommend (1) safe and practical standards and specifications for the installation, alteration, and use of electrical equipment designed to meet the necessities and conditions of the particular locality, (2) reasonable rules and regulations governing the issuance of permits by the electrical inspection departments and (3) reasonable fees to be paid for the inspection by the inspection department of all electrical equipment installed or altered within the municipality. The standards, specifications, rules, regulations, and fees so recommended shall not become effective until adopted by ordinance by the corporate authorities of the Village. All fees so adopted shall be paid into the village treasury. Passed and approved by the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook this /� day of December, 19601.
