G-56 - 06/08/1965 - PURCHASING - Ordinances JE L:KLM 5-28-65 1 & 8 cc. {psi�lLr-' J9 ects. s(o • �'8 ''LS AN ORDINANCE A ENDING Ail ORDINANCE REGULATING CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES FOR THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF' TRUSTEES OF SAID VILLAGE ON THE 14TH DAY OF JUNE, A.D. 19600 AS A11ENDED BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois, that Sections 5 and 6 of "An ordinance regulating contracts and purchases for the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois," passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees on the 14th day of June, A. D. 1960, be and the same hereby are amended, and as amended shall read as follows: Section 5. Purchases not exceeding$1,000_00, All purchase orders and contracts for supplies, materials or equipment, or for contractual services, including printing and publication, and all public improvement contracts involving the expenditure of more than Two hundred and No/100ths Dollars ($200.00) but not more than One Thousand and No/100ths Dollars {$1,000.00) shall be author- ized in advance by the Board of Trustees, and shall, whenever possible, be based on at least three written competitive bids, and shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. The Purchasing Agent, L or someone on his behalf, shall solicit bids by mail or telephone notice to prospective bidders. Section 6. Purchases and Contracts exceeding $1.000,00, All purchases, orders or contracts for supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services, and all public improvement contracts which are not to be paid for by special assessment or special taxation, involving the expenditure of more than One Thousand and No/100ths Dollars (r1,000.00) shall be let to the lowest re- sponsible bidder after advertisement for bids as provided in this ordinance, or without advertising for bids if so authorized by a vote of two-thirds of all of the trustees elected, and shall be �- approved by the Preside'n't. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by statute in such cases made and provided.
