G-89 - 05/14/1968 - POLICE DEPARTMENT - Ordinances AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. G-76 OF THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, PERTAINING TO. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF SAID VILLAGE; RE-ESTABLISHING AND RE-ORGANIZING THE SAID POLICE DEPARTMENT; BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF POLICE PATROLMEN i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 6 of "An Ordinance Repealing Ordinance No. G-4 of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois, Pertaining to the Police Department of Said Village; Re-establishing and Re-organizing the Police Department of Said Village; Creating the Offices Therein; Establishing the Method of Appointment, and Prescribing the Duties of Officers Appointed Thereto", passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, on the 26th day of September, 1967, be and the same is hereby amended, and as amended shall read as follows: "Section 6. Police Patrolmen. The office of Police Patrolmen is hereby created. Police Patrolmen shall be limited to thirteen (13) in number unless such number is otherwise changed by the President and Board of Trustees. Police Patrolmen shall be appointed by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Oakbrook pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois and the rules of said Board. "All male persons heretofore duly appointed and now acting as Police Patrolmen and/or desk officer for the Village of Oakbrook shall be patrolmen as though appointed pursuant to the terms of this ordinance. 1 "The duties of Police Patrolmen shall be to give their atten- tion to the affairs of said Village, preserve the peace, order, safety, cleanliness and to otherwise enforce the ordinance of the Village of Oakbrook, and the orders of superior officers L and the Village President. Such Police Patrolmen shall be under the direct supervision of their superior officers, and shall at all times be subject to the rules and regulations of i I the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. " Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and ef- fect from and after its passage and approval as by statutes in such cases made and provided.
