G-118 - 04/14/1970 - ENGINEERING - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE THE OFFICE OF PUBLIC ENGINEER AND TO SPECIFY THE DUTIES THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Du Page County, Illinois , as follows: Section 1 . There is hereby created and established the office of Public Engineer for the Village of Oak Brook. i Section 2 . The Public . Engineer shall be appointed by the Village President, by and with the consent of the Board of Trustees. Section 3 . No person shall be appointed to the office of Public Engineer unless such person is registered under the provisions of "The Illinois Professional Engineering Act" , approved July 20, 1945, as heretofore and hereafter amended. Section 4 . The Public Engineer shall be responsible to the Village Administrator and report to him on all matters and be subject to his direction in the performance of his duties . Section 5. The Public Engineer shall devote full time to his office; he is responsible for the engineering, design and supervision of construction of public improvements including street paving, sidewalks, storm and sanitary sewers and traffic control within the Village ,of Oak Brook and he will engage in on-site inspection of all public improvements; he will prepare preliminary cost estimates for improvements and will perform related work under the direction of the Village Administrator. Section '6 . The measure and manner of compensation for the Public Engineer shall be set and subject to change at any time by resolution or ordinance. Section 7 .
