G-150 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING STREET LIGHTING STANDARDS FOR THE VILLAGE OF O.�K BROOK Whereas , Article VII, Section 31 Paragraph F of Ordinance G-140 Subdivision Regulations Ordinance provides for the adoption of lighting standards by the Village of Oak Brook; and Whereas, the Public Works and Utilities Committee has met and recommended the adoption of certain standards for street light- inb within the Village. Now, Therefore, Be it Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois , as f follows Section 1. Article VII, Section 3, Paragraph F of the Oak Brook Subdivision Regulations Ordinance is hereby amended to estab lish lighting standards within the Village, said standards are set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 2. The street lighting requirements within the Village shall consist of the following according to the various classifications set forth: A. Light Level Street Classification Minimum Average Maintained Light Levu Major Arterial. (Non-Residential) 2.2 foot candles with .7 foot candle Collector & Minor Arterial minimum on the roadway surface (Non-Residential) Residential - Collector 0.4 I Minor and Local Residential 0.2 B. Lighting standards shall meet the following height and fixture requirements as shown: Mounting Height Street Classification in Feet Fixture Major Arterial (Non-Residential) 30-33 700-1000 Watt Mercury Vapor Bracket Arm Mount Collector & Minor Arterial 30 400 Watt Mercury (Non-Residential) Vapor Bracket Arm Mount Residential 16 175 Watt Mercury Vapor Pole Top Mounted Poles for non-residential areas : Median installation_ shall be Union Metal Double Davit type 920-Y64 or equal and single arm poles shall be Union Metal type 920-Y61 or equal. For residential lighting the poles utilized should be stress spun concrete lighting standards , butt-base having a mounting height of lb feet and having a finish of polished gray and that the style of laminar -be approved by _the Village of Oak Brook. -- - 400 watt and larger luminaires shall be equipped with internally mounted constant wattage 240 x 480 volt ballasts . Bulbs shall be color corrected. f v, voiLtro1 shall be designed with a main disconnect , ?ndlvldual breakers for the separate circuits , a street light controller operated from a photocell on one of the fixtures plus an overriding test switch for daytime activation of the lights . The controls shall be mounted in a weatherproof cabinet designed so the electric meter can be mounted on the cabinet . All wiring shall be in parallel with all underground wire in duct. All crossings under pavement shall be run in rigid conduit or pipe sleeves . Commercial area lighting voltage may be 240 or 480 volt. Residential area voltage may be 120/240 volt .
