AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE G-93 OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK ENTITLED
"TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF 1968" AS
AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook as follows :
Section 1. Section 5.12 entitled Procedure In Handling
Traffic Violations is hereby amended to read as follows:
5.12 PROCEDURE IN HANDLING PARKING VIOLATIONS. The
police department is ' authorized to place violation
notices on every car parked in violation of this
Article of this ordinance and to cause summonses or
warrants, or a notice to appear to be issued to commence
prosecution against violators , except that the police
department need not cause such proceedings to commence
against any violation of the provisions of Sections
5.01, 5.03, 5:05 or 5 .07 of this' Article who -appears at
the Oak"Brook Village Hall and pays the sum of $5.00 to the
Village' Col1"ector no later than forty-eight hours after
the time of the violation as it is indicated on the
violation notice issued by the police department. If
payment of the sum of $5.00 is not made within a forty-
eight hour period after the time of the violation,. then
the sum of $10. 00 must be paid within ten days of the
violation or the police department is directed to issue
the - appropriate summonses or warrants or notices to
appear and proceed with the matter in the same manner as
other violations of this ordinance.
Section 2.: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
