AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE BUILDING CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook as follows :
Section 1. Chapter 61 of the Building Code of the Village of
Oak Brook, Section 16-20 .1 is _hereby amended by adding there to a
new definition, to be alphabetically interposed in said section.
as follows :
Open Parking Structure: An enclosed or partially enclosed
parking facility which is at'--least 500 open on all sides,
and is used solely for the parking of passenger motor
vehicles .
Section 2 Chapter 61 of the Building Code of the Village of
Oak Brook is hereby amended by redesignating Section 61-20.2 as
Section 61-20 .2A and adding thereto two new sections , Section
61-20 .2B and 61-20 .2C as follows :
61-20.2
(a. ) Parking facility structures, except open parking
structures as provided in paragraph (b.) below
shall be of Type I-A fire resistive construction
as defined in Chapter 49.
(b. ) Open parking structures may be of Type I fire
resistive construction or Type II non-combustible
construction, as defined in Chapter 49 , and shall
not exceed the limitations as outlined in the
Zoning Ordinance, #G-60 Village of Oak Brook.
(c. ) All open automobile parking structures, shall,
regardless of height or areas , be required to
install a "dry stand pipe" in each stairwell
complete with approved fire department connections
at locations designated by the Village of Oak
Brook Building Commissioner and Bureau of Fire
Prevention.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and affect
10 days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law.`

the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois, this 11th day of
