AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 8-47 AND 8-129 OF THE "CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK,. ILLINOIS" RELATING TO
TAXICAB LICENSES AND FARES
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook have been empowered to establish by resolution the number of taxicab
licenses to be issued and outstanding, from time to time, based on the public
convenience and necessity, the number of said taxicab vehicle licenses issued being
set forth in Section 8-47, Schedule "B", of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of
Oak Brook, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have established
certain taxicab fares for taxicabs the schedule of said fares being set forth in
Section 8-129, Schedule "A", of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak
Brook, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees find that, based on
public convenience and necessity, additional taxicab licenses should be granted to
permit the operation of taxicabs within the Village, and that fares should be
established for the operation of these taxicabs; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem the passage of
this Ordinance to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare
of the Village of Oak Brook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Du Page and Cook Counties, Illinois, that:
SECTION 1: The provisions of the preamble hereinbefore set forth are hereby
restated herein as though herein fully set forth.
SECTION 2: Section 8-47, Schedule "B", of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook, Illinois, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3: Section 8-129 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook,
Illinois, is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered 8-129 (b), and to
read as follows:
Section 8-129 (b)
No person owning or operating a taxicab licensed by the Village shall
charge a fee therefor in excess of the rates as set forth in Schedule "C".

First quarter mile $ .85
Each mile thereafter 1.05
For each 1/5 mile thereafter .21
For each extra passenger .20
Charge for waiting
at a rate of 12.00 or fraction thereof per hour.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as by Statute in such case made and provided. This Ordinance
shall be published in pamphlet form.
SECTION 5: All ordinances, rules, and regulations of the Village of Oak Brook
which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to
the extent of the conflict.
SECTION 6: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such determination shall not affect
the validity of any remaining portion of this Ordinance.
