ORDINANCE NUMBER
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-177 BEING AN ORDINANCE
`- REGULATING THE USE OF STREETS AND HIGHWAYS WITHIN THE VILLAGE
OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees,
Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois that:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-101 of Ordinance G-177 which provides for
es,tablishing traffic regulations within parking areas, the Corporate Authorities hereby
designate specific areas for parking of vehicles for the handicapped.
SECTION 2: Reference to those locations designated by official signs is hereby added
to Schedule XII of Ordinance G-177 as follows:
(6) Handicapped Parking Areas:
Those areas so designated, and sign posted by the Village with
the official handicapped symbol, shall be reserved as parking
for handicapped. Only those vehicles which display registration
plates issued by the Secretary of State with the handicapped
symbol or the disabled veterans designation are permitted to
park in those parking areas.
SECTION 3: The Village Manager is authorized and directed to cause to be erected
appropriate traffic signs to give notice to the public of the imposed restrictions.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as by Statute in such case made and provided. This Ordinance
shall be published in pamphlet form.
SECTION 5: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phase of this Ordinance
is for any reason held to be invalid, such determination shall not affect the validity
of any remaining portion of this Ordinance.
