AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF TILE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS, ORDINANCE NO. G-60 ,
AS AML-11DED, AND CREATING AN ADDITIONAL SPECIAL USE .CATEGORY

WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of
Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties , Illinois have heretofore adopted
Ordinance G-60 known as the"Zoning Ordinance of Oak Brook, Illinois
of 1966 ," %rhich Ordinance has been from time to time amended; and
WHEREAS, in keeping with and in furtherance of the stated
purposes of said Ordinance No. G-60 the corporate authorities of
the Village of Oak Brook deem it advisable to further said Ordin-
ance G-60 to provide for an additional category of special uses in
the Zoning District known as ORA- 1 Office Research Assembly District ;
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing thereon has been conducted on
January 6 , 1981 by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oak
Brook pursuant to due and appropriate notice ; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Oak Brook
has submitted its report on the petition to the Zoning Board of
Appeals and the President and Board of Trustees ; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees concur with
the recommendations of its Plan Commission and its Zoning Board of
Appeals that an additional category of special uses be created
within the said ORA- 1 District ;
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK,, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS as follows :
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove
set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein .
Section 2 : That Section X(B) (2) of the Oak Brook Zoning
Ordinance as amended is further amended by adding thereto Sub-section
(e) as an additional special use category which shall read as
follows :
(e) Personal service and retail .sales uses intended
primarily for the use of tenants and having no
exterior advertising and accessible only from the
lobby or interior of the building , limited to :
(i) barber shops and beauty parlors ;
. (ii) drug stores ;
(iii) tobacco shops ; and
(iv) newsstands - newspapers , magazines and other
periodicals .
Section 3 : That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to pu lis this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner
provided by law.

Section 4 :- That all ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict .
Section' s : That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication in pam-
phlet form as required by .law.
