AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE- G- 261 AND PROVIDING I1OR REVISED
REGULATION OF TRAFFIC ALONG SPRIT\G ROAD BETWEEN OA!� BROOK ROAD
AND ADIAMS ROAP,
Vill13REAS , the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Oak Brook have heretofore enacted Ordinance G- 177 being an Ordinance
regulating traffic within the Village of Oak Brook , which Ordinance
has from time to time been amended ; and
IVHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook, pursuant to. Ordi.nance G- 261 , passed and approved February
26 , 1980 , enacted restrictions amending said Ordinance G- 177 to pro-
vide additional traffic regulations governing Spring Road ; and
WHEREAS, the said President and Board of Trustees deem the .amend-
ment of Ordinance G- 261 to be advisable and in furtherance of the
general welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village ; and
IVFIEREAS, the Illinois Vehicle Code , Chapter 95z of the Illinois
Revised Statutes , specifically authorizes local authorities to regu-
late and restrict traffic movements in the interest of the public
welfare and safety ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COCK COUNTIES ,
ILLINOIS as follows :
Section 1_ : 'That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove
set 'forth are he incorporated herein as though fully set forth
herein .
Section 2 : That Secti-on 2 of Ordinance G- 261 be and is hereby
amended^to^ read as follows
That in accordance with the provisions of Section
1 -913 of Ordinance G- 177 , Schedule IX thereof, entitled
"Prohibited Turns" i_s hereby amended by adding thereto
the following :
It shall be unlawful for the operator of any
vehicle to make any turn or other traffic
maneuver so as to travel in a Southerly
direction onto Spring Road between Oak
Brook Road and Adams Road between the hours
of 3 : 00 P.M. and 6 : 00 P.M . , Monday through
and including Friday .
Section 3: That the appropriate of.f:icers and employees of
the Vi7.l.age are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs
i.n conformance with the pr•ovisi.ons of Section 2 of this Ordinance to
implement the provis.i_ons of this Ordinance .
Section 4 : 'That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and alter its passage , approval , publication in pamphlet form
and the posting of appropriate signs as directed in Section 3 hereof .
Section 5 : That all ordinances or parts thereof i.n conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby re-
pealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 6 : The Village Clerk is hereby authorized_ and directed
to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law .
