AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. G- 177 , THE TRAFFIC CODE OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS, AS AIMENDED, AND PROVIDING
FOR THE DESIGNATION OF ADDITIONAL FIRE LANES
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook have heretofore enacted Ordinance G-177 being
an Ordinance regulating traffic within the Village of Oak Brook,
which Ordinance has from time to time been amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook deem it advisable and in the best interests
and in furtherance of the general welfare and safety of the citizens
of the Village that siad Ordinance G-177 be further amended to de-
signate an additional fire lane; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Vehicle Code , Chapter 952 of the
Illinois Revised Statutes , specifically authorizes local authorities
to regulate and restrict parking in the interest of the public
welfare and safety;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS as follows :
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble herein-
above set forth are Tereby incorporated herein as though fully set
forth herein.
Section 2 : That in accordance with the provisions of
Section 1- 1302 of Ordinance G-177 , Schedule XV thereof, entitled
"Designated Fire Lanes" , is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following additional designated fire lane :
BUSINESS ADDRESS AREA OF FIRE LANE
Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club - 1 . The entire circular drive-
800 Oak Brook Road way at the main entrance
Section 3 : That the appropriate officers and employees
of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs
in conformance with the provisions of Section 2 of this Ordinance
to implement the provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 4 : That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval , publication in
pamphlet form and the posting of appropriate signs as directed in
Section 3 hereof.
Section 5 : That all Ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict with the provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 6: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form as required by
law.
