AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-1771
TRAFFIC CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK,
ILLINOIS, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR
REVISED PROCEDURES AND PENALTIES FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook, Illinois have heretofore enacted Ordinance
G-177 , being an Ordinance regulating traffic within the Village of
Oak Brook, which Ordinance from time to time has been amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook deem it advisable and in the best interest and furtherance
of the general welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village that
said Ordinance G-177 be further amended to revise the procedures and
penalties for parking violations ; and
WHEREAS, Illinois Vehicle Code , Chapter 95?of the Illinois
Revised Statutes , specifically authorizes local authorities to regulate
and restrict parking in the interest of the public welfare and safety;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, as follows :
Section 1 : That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove
set forth are hereby incorporated herein as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2 : That Section 1-1320 of Ordinance G-1771 as amended,
entitled "Procedure in handling parking violation" is hereby amended
to read as follows :
The police department is authorized to place violation
notices on every vehicle parked in violation of this
Division and to cause summonses or warrants to be issued
to commence prosecution against violators , except that
the police department need not cause such proceedings to
commence against any person for any violation of the
provisions of this Division if such person renders pay-
ment to the Village according to the following schedule
within the prescribed time limits as follows :

If said payments are not made within the time periods and
in the amounts as prescribed above the police department
is authorized to issue appropriate summonses , warrants or
notices to appear so as to commence proceedings in the
Circuit Court for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit , DuPage
County, Illinois and proceed- with the matter in the same
manner as other violations of this Ordinance pursuant
to the penalty provisions of Section 1-8 of the Code of
Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 3 : This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and a -ter its passage , approval and publication in pamphlet form as
of January 1 , 1982 .
Section 4 : That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance be , and the same are , hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 5 : That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form as required
by law
