G-330 - 09/28/1982 - FIRE DEPARTMENT - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. G 330 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE ILLINOIS FIRE PROTECTION. TRAINING ACT WHEREAS, the corporate authorities heretofore elected to participate in the Illinois Fire Protection Training Act pursuant to Section 6-62 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook adopted January 25 , 1977 pursuant to Ordinance G-209 ; and WHEREAS, recent Amendments to Chapter 85 , paragraph 539 , pursuant to Public Act 82-777 require the passage of an ordinance to reaffirm the Village 's desire to participate in the Illinois Fire Protection Training Act; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows : Section 1 : That the provision of the Preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2 : That the Village of Oak Brook hereby elects to participate in the programs provided for in the Illinois Fire Protection Training Act for certification and reimbursement for training expenses as provided in said Illinois Fire Protection Training Act, Chapter 85 , paragraph 531 et sequitur . Section 3 : That all firemen shall complete the basic course approved by the office of the State Fire Marshall and pass the State test for certification at the basic level within the probationary period for firemen as established by the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners . Section 4 : That the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners are hereby aut orized and directed to make any necessary amendments to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Oak Brook in order to require that any person appointed as a member. of the Fire Department shall not become a regular member thereof unless and until he shall complete , pursuant to the said Illinois Fire Protection Training Act, the approved training course within that person's probationary period. Section 5 : That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect T—ro—m--a--nU after its passage and approval pursuant to law. Passed the 28th day of September _, 1982 .
