AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. G-177, THE TRAFFIC CODE OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
DESIGNATION OF A "NO U TURN" AREA, THE DESIGNATION OF
35th STREET AS A THROUGH STREET AND THE DESIGNATION OF
ADDITIONAL FIRE LANES
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook have heretofore enacted Ordinance G-177 being an Ordinance regulating
traffic within the Village of Oak Brook, which Ordinance has from time to time
been amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook deem it advisable and in the best interests and in furtherance of the
general welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village that said Ordinance
G-177 be further amended to designate the I-5 Tollway exit at 222nd Street as an
area where no °U" turns are permitted; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook deem it advisable and in the best interest and in furtherance of the
general welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village that Ordinance G-177 be
further amended to designate 35th Street as a through highway and erect stop
signs at the St. Stephens Green and Trinity Lane entrances to 35th Street; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook deem it advisable and in the best interest and in furtherance of the
general welfare and citizens of the Village of Oak Brook that Ordinance No. G-177
be further amended by designating additional fire lanes in the area of Rubloff
Incorporated, 2001-2015-2021 Spring Road, formerly known as the Arthur Rubloff
Company, due to the redesign of the parking lot at this location; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendments are made pursuant to authority set
forth in the Illinois Vehicle Code, Chapter 95 1/2 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes as adopted by the Village of Oak Brook in Ordinance G-177.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby incorporated herein as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That in accordance with the provisions of Section 1-1429 of
Ordinance G-177, Schedule R is hereby amended to read as follows:
SCHEDULE X. "U" TURNS
That it shall be unlawful for the operator of
any motor vehicle to make a "U" turn as follows:
1) Upon that portion of the street or public way
known and designated as Woodside Estates
Entrance Way lying between the easterly edge of
the improved portion of York Road and a point
200 feet easterly thereof;
2) On 22nd Street and Spring Road at the I-5
exit.
Section 3: That Section 1-302(a) of Ordinance G-177 be and is hereby
amended to read as follows:

(a) The Village with reference to streets and
highways under its jurisdiction may designate
through highways and erect stop signs or yield
signs at specified entrances thereto or may
designate any intersection as a stop intersection
or as a yield intersection and erect stop signs or
yield signs at one or more entrances to such
intersection. The streets or highways described
in Schedule II, attached hereto and by reference
made a part hereof, shall be designated as through
streets or through highways.
Section 4: That in accordance with the provisions of Section 1-302(a)
of Ordinance G-177, Schedule II thereof, entitled "Through Streets", is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following additional designated through street:

Section 5: That in accordance with the provisions of Section
1-1303(a)(3)a -of Ordinance G-177, Schedule %V is hereby amended by:
(a) Changing the name of the business located at 2001
Spring Road and 2015 Spring Road from Arthur Rubloff
Company to Rubloff Incorporated.
(b) Changing the area of Fire Lane for Rubloff
Incorporated, 2015 Spring Road, to read as follows:

Rubloff Incorporated 1. The main drive adjacent to
2015 Spring Road East side of the building.
2. The East/Test drive
adjacent to the South side
of the building.
3• The main North/South
parking aisle drive located
approximately 250 feet East
of the building.
(c) Adding the following business address and area
of fire lane:

Rubloff Incorporated The North/South drive
2021 Spring Road located approximately 150
feet East of the building.
Section 6: That the appropriate officers and employees of the Village
of Oak Brook are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs in conformance
with the provisions of Sections 2, 4 and 5 of this Ordinance to implement the
provisions of this Ordinance, including the erection of stop signs at the St.
Stephens Green and Trinity Lane entrances to 35th Street.
Section 7: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval, publication in pamphlet form and the posting of
appropriate signs as directed in Section 6 hereof.

Section S: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law.
