ORDINANCE NO. G- 352
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLES I AND VI OF APPENDIX D
(Personnel Rules and Regulations)
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook wishes to extend vacation leave to
regular part-time employees as set forth below; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Village that the Personnel
Rules and Regulations reflect this change;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That Article I entitled "Definitions" of Appendix D,
Personnel Rules and Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak
Brook is amended by deleting the following definition:

Section 2: That Article I entitled "Definitions" of Appendix D,
Personnel Rules and Regulations, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak
Brook is amended by adding the following definitions in alphabetical order:
Part-Time Employee or Temporar Employee -- An employee working
less than 17.5 hours per week or receiving compensation on an
hourly basis and hired as a provisional, temporary and/or
seasonal employee.
Regular Part-Time Employee -- An employee working less than the
standard work week for his or her classification but more than
910 hours per year (17.5 hours per week) and employed with the
understanding that said employee will work on a continuing
regular basis. Employees working less than seventeen and one
half (17.5) hours per week will be classified as Part-time
Employees.
Section 3: That Section 4 ("Vacation Leave") of Article VI entitled
"Attendance and Leaves" of Appendix D, Personnel Rules and Regulations, of the
Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook is amended by adding subsection
(j) as follows:
(j) After working for the Village over twenty-six (26)
consecutive pay periods, regular part-time employees who are
not permanent employees (minimum 910 hours per year) shall be
allowed vacation leave at the proportionate rate that regular
part-time hours for a specific employee on an annual basis
bears to the full-time hours as are currently in effect.
Vacation leave for regular part-time employees shall be
adjusted annually in accordance with the above vacation leave
increments based on years of service (see subsections a, b and
c) .
Section 4: Section 5 of Article VI of Appendix D, Personnel Rules and
Regulations,of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 5: Part-Time Employees and Temporary Employees --
Part-time employees and temporary employees are not
entitled to holiday pay, vacation pay or sick pay
an-- privileges.
Section 5: All ordinances, rules and regulations of the Village of Oak
Brook which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed to the extent of the conflict.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
