AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. G-177 THE TRAFFIC CODE OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK ILLINOIS AS AMENDED AND PROVIDING FOR THE
DESIGNATION OF A THREE-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF
KENSINGTON ROAD AND KENSINGTON COURT
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook
have heretofore enacted Ordinance G-177 being an Ordinance regulating traffic
within the Village of Oak Brook, which Ordinance has from time to time been
amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook
deem it advisable and in the best interests and in furtherance of the general
welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village that said Ordinance G-177 be
further amended to designate the intersection of Kensington Road and Kensington
Court as a stop intersection; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendments are made pursuant to authority set forth in
the Illinois Vehicle Code, Chapter 95 1/2 of the Illinois Revised Statutes as
adopted by the Village of Oak Brook in Ordinance G-177.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby incorporated herein as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That in accordance with the provisions of Section 1-302 of
Ordinance G-177, Schedule III is hereby amended to read as follow:
SCHEDULE III. STOP INTERSECTIONS
All traffic shall come to a complete stop before proceeding through
the following intersection: Kensington Road and Kensington Court.
Section 3: That the appropriate officers and employees of the Village of
Oak Brook are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs in conformance
with the provisions of Section 2 of this Ordinance to implement the provisions of
this Ordinance, including the erection of stop signs at the intersection of
Kensington Road and Kensington Court.
Section 4 That this Ordinance shall be 'in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval, publication in pamphlet form and the posting of
appropriate signs as directed in Section 3 hereof.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law.
