AN ORDINANCE AMENDING G-177, THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAR BROOK,
ILLINOIS, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AT THE
INTERSECTION OF HUNT CLUB DRIVE AND OAR BROOK ROAD (31st STREET)
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook have heretofore enacted Ordinance G-177 being an Ordinance regulating
traffic within the Village of Oak Brook, which Ordinance has fran time to time
been amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook deem it advisable and in the best interests and in furtherance of the
general welfare and safety of the citizens of the Village that said Ordinance No.
G-177 be further amended to provide additional traffic regulations governing the
intersection of Hunt Club Drive and Oak Brook Road (31st Street); and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Vehicle Code, Chapter 95 1/2 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes, specifically authorizes local authorities to regulate and
restrict traffic movements in the interest of the public welfare and safety;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby incorporated herein as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That in accordance with the provisions of Section 1-913 of
Ordinance G-177, Schedule IX thereof, entitled "Prohibited Turns" is hereby
amended by adding paragraphs (6) and (7) thereto as follows:
(6) It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle
traveling in a westerly direction on Oak Brook Road (31st
Street) to make a right-hand turn so as to travel in a
northerly direction on Hunt Club Drive between the hours of
7:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. Monday through.Friday.
(7) It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle
traveling in a southerly direction on Hunt Club Drive to make
a left-hand turn so as to travel in an easterly direction on
Oak Brook Road (31st Street) between the hours of 4:00 P.M.
and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
Section 3: That the appropriate officers and employees of the Village
are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs in conformance with the
provisions of Section 2 of this Ordinance to implement the provisions of this
Ordinance.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect fran
and after its passage, approval, publication in pamphlet form and the posting of
appropriate signs as directed in Section 3 hereof.
Section 5: That all Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
Section 6: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this-Ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law.
