AN ORDINANCE AMMIM SECTION 5(a) OF ARTICLE II OF
PERSONNEL RULES AND REMIATIONS OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have approved a
staff recommendation to allow full-time employees who work on holidays to be
paid at a rate of time and one half instead of straight time rate; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deem the amendment
of the provisions of the Personnel Rules and Regulations to be appropriate to
incorporate said recommendation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That Article II, Section 5(a), of the Personnel Rules and
Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
(a) Non-exempt Personnel. Full-time employees who are non-exempt
under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act including
commissioned police and fire personnel below the rank of Lieutenant,
in the case of the Police Department, and below the rank of Chief,
in the case of the Fire Department, shall be compensated, in cash or
compensatory time off, for periods worked in addition to the regular
established number or hours a day, or days a week, including
holidays designated by the Village which are regular work days of
that employee, at the rate of one and one-half times the regular
rate.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage and approval pursuant to law.
