AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-177
THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS, AS AMENDED
AND REPEALING THE PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS ON RED
FOR EASTBOUND TRAFFIC ON 22ND STREET AT SPRING ROAD
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Oak Brook have heretofore enacted the Ordinance G-351, which ordinance amends
the Traffic Code of the Village of Oak Brook and prohibits right turns on red
for eastbound traffic at 22nd Street onto Spring Road; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deem the repeal of
such restriction to be consistent with the interests of the safe and efficient
movement of traffic at said intersection in light of improvements made at that
location, eliminating the need for the right turn restrictions embodied in
Ordinance G-351;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section l: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 1-306(C)(2)(a) of the Traffic Code of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby repealed.
Section 3: That the appropriate officers and police of the Village of
Oak Brook are hereby authorized and directed to remove said signs so as to
conform with the provisions of Section 2 of this ordinance and to implement
the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form pursuant to law.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law.
