G-444 - 02/13/1990 - ZONING - Ordinances ORDINANCE G- 444 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION VIII(C)(1) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ORDINANCE G-60 AS AMENDED RELATIVE TO PERMITTED USES IN THE B-1 LOCAL SHOPPING CENTER DISTRICT WHEREAS, an application has been filed requesting certain amendments to Section VIII(C)(1) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook to add additional permitted uses in the B-1 Zoning District; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on such application was conducted by the Zoning Board of Appeals on January 10, 1990, pursuant to due and appropriate legal notice; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals made a recommendation that the requested text amendments be approved; and WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have reviewed said recommendation and concur with the same subject to certain modifications; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That Section VIII(C)(1) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows: (1) Permitted Uses: (a) Audio and Video Equipment, Retail Sales thereof - including components and related accessories, installation and servicing of such products in motor vehicles and conducted entirely within an enclosed structure with service entry at the rear of the building with no overnight parking. (b) Antique shops. (c) Bakeries - where not more than 30% of the floor area is devoted to processing. (d) Barber shops and beauty parlors. (e) Book and stationery stores. (f) Camera and photographic supply stores and photographic studios. (g) Candy and ice cream stores. (i) Drug stores. (j) Dry-cleaning and laundry retail establishments - provided that processing, if done on the premises, shall utilize nonexplosive and noninflammable materials, and that such processing shall be limited to service of the principal use. (k) Fire stations. (1) Florist shops. (m) Food stores - grocery store, meat markets and delicatessens. (n) Gift shops. (o) Haberdasheries. (p) Hardware stores. (q) Hobby, toy and game shops provided amusement arcades are not permitted. (r) Home decorating stores. (s) Home furniture and furnishings stores. (t) Housewares stores. (u) Jewelry stores, including watch, clock and jewelry repair. (v) Launderettes - including automatic self-service dry-cleaning equipment. (w) Libraries, branch. (x) Luggage and leather goods stores. (y) Men's and women's accessory and specialty stores. (z) Music stores. (aa) Offices - business, professional and public. (bb) Optical goods stores. (ee) Restaurants - including cocktail lounges. (ff) Shoe stores. (gg) Sporting goods stores. (hh) Temporary buildings - for construction purposes for a period not to exceed 90 days following completion of the development. (ii) Travel Bureaus and transportation ticket offices. (jj) Variety Stores (kk) Wearing apparel shops. (11) Accessory uses and structures - including but not limited to off-street loading, off-street parking and business signs. Section 3: That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provision of the ordinance including Section 3 of Ordinance G-432 be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law. Section 5: That the Village Clerk is authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form as required by law. PASSED THIS 13th day of February , 1990.
