G-484 - 03/10/1992 - PERSONNEL RULES & REGS - Ordinances ORDINANCE G- 484 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK AND REVISING THE PROVISIONS OF THE EDUCATIONAL RECOGNITION PLAN WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have heretofore adopted Personnel Rules and Regulations; and WHEREAS, said Personnel Rules and Regulations have been amended from time to time; and WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said Personnel Rules and Regulations as previously amended be further amended to include the job title of captains; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That Section 7 of Article X of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 7. Educational Recognition Plan. Police and Fire Personnel (Rank of Patrolman/Fireman through Captain) will be granted annual allotments in addition to base pay upon satisfactory completion of probationary training periods and/or educational attainment. Curricula in Police or Fire Science, Criminal Justice and Administration, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, and other related fields are acceptable courses. Other curricula must be approved by the Department Head, Village Manager and Organization, Personnel and Salary Administrative Committee. Allotments will be based on the following basis: Semester Quarterly Annual Step Hours Hours Allotment I 30 45 $ 300 II 60 90 600 III 90 135 900 IV 120 180 1,200 The Educational Recognition Plan is retroactive and applies to those Police and Fire employees who have accrued educational credit. The allotments are to be added to the Police and Fire employees' existing salary immediately upon satisfactory completion of the requisite number of course hours. Transcripts must be provided indicating all grades are �-- "C" or better. Ordinance G- 484 Amending the Personnel Rules and Regulations Relating to the Educational Recognition Plan Page 2 The above provisions shall not be applicable to any person initially employed by the Village subsequent to October 1, 1980." Section 2: Except as amended hereby, the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook shall remain in full force and effect and are hereby ratified and confirmed. Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law. PASSED THIS 10th day of March , 1992.
