ORDINANCE G- 489
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
RELATING TO RESTRICTIONS ON WATER USE
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have heretofore
enacted ordinances imposing restrictions on the use of water; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have recently
reviewed said policies and deemed the amendment of same to be appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 12-405 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 12-405. Landscape sprinkling.
Landscape sprinkling, as set forth in section 12-403, shall be
permitted as follows:
(1) Odd-numbered street addresses: Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday - 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. ,
except that any person may sprinkle growing vegetation at any time
on the foregoing three=_ days, provided that a hand-held hose or
watering can is used.
(2) Even-numbered street addresses: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 P.M. to 11:59 p.m. , except that
any person may sprinkle growing vegetation at any time on the
foregoing three days, provided that a hand-held hose or watering
can is used.
No sprinkling or use of hand-held watering devices is allowed on
Monday.
Notwithstanding the above, newly seeded areas as well as planted
sod may be sprinkled for a maximum period of two (2) weeks from
the date of installation."

Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
