ORDINANCE G- 508
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOSITION OF FEES
FOR FINGERPRINTING SERVICES
BY THE OAK BROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook, through its Police Department,
currently provides fingerprinting services at no charge to all residents and
non-residents within said Village; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the said Village deem it
appropriate to impose a user charge for such service in order to partially
Offset the cost to the Village for providing such service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Chapter 11, Article II, be amended by adding thereto
Section 11-26 to read as follows:
"Section 11-26. Fee for Fingerprinting Services provided by the
Oak Brook Police Department
Whereas the village through its police department currently provides
fingerprinting services to all residents and commercial non-residents of
the village, and the corporate authorities of the village deem it
appropriate to impose a user charge for such service in order to
partially offset the cost to the village to provide such service, a fee
is hereby imposed upon persons requesting such service in the amount of
Ten Dollars ($10.00) per fingerprint card, provided there shall be no
charge for fingerprinting of children 17 years and younger for
identification purposes only. Retakes will be offered at no charge when
the person so fingerprinted presents sufficient proof that the original
set is not satisfactory to the submitting authority.
Commencing June 1, 1993, charges for fingerprinting shall be paid at the
time of service.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after approval and publication as required by law.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
