AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-68 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS
RELATIVE TO THE CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS WITHIN
STREET RIGHTS-OF-WAY
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, Illinois, have heretofore adopted Section 12-68 of the Code of
Ordinances of said Village, which section sets forth certain construction
requirements for work within street rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the said Village deem a
revision of such bond and insurance requirements to be in the best interest
and in pursuance of the general welfare of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That Section 12-68(A) (3) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook, Illinois, be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
11(3) Location, installation of shutoff valve or curb stop. The
shut-off valve or curb stop shall be located on the street
side of the street right-of-way line and not more than seven
and one-half (71) feet therefrom or within a public utility
or water main easement, and shall be installed with a valve
vault or valve box of design approved by the village
engineer."
Section 2: All ordinances, rules and regulations of the Village of Oak
Brook which are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3: If any section, sub-section, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such determination shall
not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this ordinance.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
