AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I%, SECTION 2
OF THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have considered certain amendments to
the Salary Administration Plan and Personnel Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities deem the amendment of the Personnel
Rules and Regulations to be appropriate so as to enhance certain service
awards authorized pursuant to Article IX, Section 2(E) ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Article IX, Section 2(E) of the Personnel Rules and
Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"(E) Service Awards - Meritorious and Longevity - Awards for
outstanding or meritorious service shall be recommended by the
Department Heads or Village Manager for employees who perform acts
beyond their normal scope of duties.
An award shall be presented at the completion of 10, 15, 20, 25
and 30 years of continuous employment to all full-time, part-time
and volunteer employees of the Village of oak Brook in recognition
and appreciation of dedication and service to the residents of
Oak Brook.
In addition to the awards, all full-time employees of the Village shall
receive the following, based on longevity of continuous full-time
employment:
(a) 10 Years - $75 gift certificate.
(b) 15 Years - $100 gift certificate.
(c) 20 Years - $175 gift certificate.
(d) 25 Years - 2 weeks of additional vacation for that year only, or
2 weeks additional pay, at the election of the employee.
(e) 30 Years - $200 gift certificate.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
