AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-177,
THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, IL
TO REDUCE TRAFFIC SPEED ON SPRING ROAD BETWEEN OAK BROOK AND YORK ROADS
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook
have enacted Ordinance G-177, being an ordinance regulating traffic within the
Village of Oak Brook, which ordinance from time to time has been amended; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village deem it
advisable and in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare
of the citizens of the Village that said Ordinance G-177 be further amended to
reduce the speed limit from 30 MPH to 25 MPH on Spring Road between Oak Brook
Road and York Road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That in accordance with the provisions of Section 1-601(f)
of Ordinance G-177, Schedule I thereof, entitled "ALTERED MAXIMUM SPEED
LIMITS" it is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 3: That the appropriate officers and employees of the Village
are hereby authorized and directed to post such signs in conformance with the
provisions of Section 2 hereof, to implement the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval, publication and the posting of the
appropriate signs as directed in Section 3 hereof.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
Section 6: That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict.
