AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI
OF THE PERSONNEL RULES®ULATIONS
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS,the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have heretofore
adopted Personnel Rules and Regulations;and
WHEREAS,said Personnel Rules and Regulations have been amended from time to time; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said Personnel Rules and Regulations as previously
amended be further amended;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1:That Section 6(i)of Article VI of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of
Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 6
(i) "Unused Sick Leave Upon Retirement. Upon retirement for every twenty(20)days of unused
or unpaid sick leave,employees can elect to receive either:
(1) Twenty percent(20%)of accrued sick leave not to exceed one hundred fifty-six (156)
days or the equivalent of one thousand seven hundred forty-seven (1,747)hours for fire
captains at the employees'then rate of pay;or
(2) The statutory service credit authorized pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 40 of the
Illinois Compiled Statutes.
For purposes of this subsection, retirement shall mean the attainment of the requisite age and
length of service as required by the employee's applicable pension statute to vest the employee
with retirement pension rights."
Section 2: Except as amended hereby,the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of
Oak Brook shall remain in full force and effect and are hereby ratified and confirmed.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in
pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
