G-634 - 05/11/1999 - TRAFFIC - Ordinances ORDINANCE 99-TC-TRN-G-634 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-177, THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, IL,AS AMENDED AND REPEALING THE PROHIBITION OF A U TURN RESTRICTION AT WOOD GLEN LANE AND YORK ROAD WHEREAS,the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have heretofore enacted Ordinance G-177, being an Ordinance regulating traffic within the Village of Oak Brook,which Ordinance has from time to time been amended; and WHEREAS,on September 25, 1984, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village further enacted Ordinance G-348, making it unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle to make a"U" turn upon that portion of the street or public way known and designated as Woodside Estates entrance way, lying between the easterly edge of the improved portion of York Road and a point 200 feet easterly thereof; and WHEREAS, under the advisement of Village staff and the presidents of the Woodside Estates and Forest Glen Homeowners Associations,the Village President and Board of Trustees deem the repeal of such restriction to be consistent with the interests of the safe and efficient movement of traffic in light of improvements made at that location. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That the"No'U'Turn"sign and restrictions at the vicinity of Wood Glen Lane and York Road be removed. Section 3: That Schedule X("U"Turns)of Appendix C of the Traffic Regulations of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook is amended to read as follows: "SCHEDULE X. "U"TURNS It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle to make a"U"turn as follows: (1) On 22nd Street and Spring Road at the 1-88 exit." Section 4: That the Public Works Director is hereby authorized and directed to remove the"No'U' Turn"sign located at the Woodside Estates entrance way, lying between the easterly edge of the improved portion of York Road and a point 200 feet easterly thereof. Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. PASSED THIS 11" day of May, 1999.
