G-672 - 02/13/2001 - LICENSE - Ordinances4• T wl } ti ORDINANCE 2001- TA -RR -G- 672 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4-2-3-1134 ENTITLED, "CAB COMPANY LICENSES" OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook on April 9, 1996, enacted Ordinance G -569, known as "Taxi Ordinance ", within the Village of Oak Brook; and WHEREAS, the Village Clerk, Village Manager and staff, from time to time, have recommended amendments to Title 4, Chapter 2, Section 4 -2 -3 -1 B4 entitled, "Cab Company Licenses" of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook; and WHEREAS, the Village Clerk, Village Manager and staff have recommended that the decal evidencing registration with the Village be displayed on the left side of the rear bumper; and WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have reviewed this amendment and have approved the change recommended by the Village Manager and staff; WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem passage of this ordinance to be in the best interest and in pursuance of the general welfare of the Village of Oak Brook. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That Section 4 -2 -3 -1 B4, Cab Company Licenses, of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook is amended to read as follows: "4. A taxicab shall not be registered under subsection B3 of this Section until it has passed a visual inspection by Oak Brook Police Department personnel to ascertain compliance with subsections 4 -2 -7A and C and Section 4 -2 -8 of this Chapter. If the taxicab successfully passes the inspection, Police Department personnel shall affix a decal on the left side of the rear bumper of the taxicab, indicating that it is properly registered with the Village. The decal shall remain on the taxicab throughout the term of the cab company license and shall not be removed." Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law. PASSED THIS 13th day of February, 2001.
