AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF TITLE 4,
"BUSINESS AND LICENSE REGULATIONS ",
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS
AND ADJUSTING FEES AND CHARGES
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois
have heretofore, by ordinance established rates, fees, and service charges within the Business
and License Regulations titles of the Village Code, and
WHEREAS, the Village Manager has recommended license fee increases for Scavenger
Solid/Waste Licenses, Tobacco Product Licenses, Raffle Licenses and initiating a Taxi Cab
Registration fee, and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have reviewed these proposed
amendments and have approved the changes recommended by the Village Manager,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem the suggested amendments to
Chapter 4 of Title 4, "Business and License Regulations" of the Village Code to be in the best
interest and in pursuance of the general welfare of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
as follows-
Section 1 That the provisions of the above preamble are hereby adopted as though fully
set forth herein.
Section 2- That Section 4- 3- 4(B)(1) of Title 4, "Business and License Regulations ", of the
Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois be and is hereby amended to read as follows.
1. The fee for a residential or commercial scavenger license shall be one thousand
dollars ($1,000 00) per year, and the license period shall be from January 1 until
December 31 of each year All fees shall be paid to the Village Clerk prior to the
issuance of said license The fee for any license issued after January 1 of any
given year shall be prorated on a monthly basis for the number of months
remaining in the fiscal year as above established
Section 3 That Section 4- 6 -2(C) of Title4, "Business and License Regulations ", of the
Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
C Fee The license fee for a tobacco dealer's license shall be one hundred dollars
($10000)
Section 4 That Section 4 -7 -5 of Title 4, "Business and License Regulations ", of the
Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois be and is hereby amended to read as follows-

FEE A license shall be issued when the requirements of this Chapter have been
met and a fee of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) has been paid to the Village and
received by the Village Clerk A license authorizes the licensee to conduct one raffle
Section 5 That Section 4- 2- 3 -1(B) (4) of Title 4, "Business and License Regulations ", of
the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
4. A taxicab shall not be registered under subsection B3 of this section until it has
passed a visual inspection by Oak Brook police department personnel to
ascertain compliance with subsections 4 -2 -7A and C and section 4 -2 -8 of this
chapter and until a registration fee of twenty -five dollars ($25 00) has been paid
to the Village and received by the Village Clerk If the taxicab successfully
passes the inspection, police department personnel shall affix a decal on the left
side of the rear bumper of the taxicab, indicating that it is properly registered with
the village The decal shall remain on the taxicab throughout the term of the cab
company license and shall not be removed.
Section 6 All ordinances, rules and regulations of the Village of Oak Brook which are in
conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
Section 7 If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for
any reason held to be invalid, such determination shall not affect the validity of any remaining
portion of this Ordinance
Section 8: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form.
Section 9 The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this Ordinance
in pamphlet form as required by law
