G-719 - 05/27/2003 - BIKE PATH - Ordinancesr I ORDINANCE 2003- BD -SPC -G -719 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 -7 -2 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK RELATIVE TO THE SAFETY PATHWAY COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, adopted Ordinance G -488 on June 23, 1992, establishing the Safety Pathway Committee in and for the Village of Oak Brook, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance G -701, adopted on August 13, 2002, no appointee's term shall expire after June 30, 2003, at which time the committee shall cease and disband, unless extended by the affirmative vote of both the President and Board of Trustees and the Board of Commissioners of the Oak Brook Park District, and WHEREAS, both the Village Board and the Park District Board wish to extend the expiration date for the Safety Pathway Committee to June 30, 2005, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows Section 1 That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein Section 2 That Section 2 -7 -2 ( "MEMBERS, APPOINTMENT ") of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook is amended to read as follows 2 -7 -2: MEMBERS; APPOINTMENT: A Appointment There shall be seven (7) members of the committee They shall be appointed as follows one resident from each quadrant in Oak Brook, using Route 83 and Oak Brook Road as the quadrant coordinates The village president shall appoint four (4) members and the president of the park district will appoint two (2) members The village president shall also appoint one member at large B Terms Members shall be appointed for a two (2) year term, provided that no appointee's term shall extend past June 30, 2005 The members shall elect a chairperson each July for a one (1) year term The committee will be supported by a member of the village's staff and a member of the Oak Brook Park District staff These staff appointments will be made by the village president and the president of the Oak Brook Park District, respectively 2 The committee shall cease and disband on June 30, 2005, unless extended by the affirmative vote of both the village president and board of trustees and the board of commissioners of the Oak Brook Park District (Ord G -488, 6 -23 -1992, Ord G -611, 6 -9 -1998, Ord G -671, 2 -13 -2001, Ord G -701, 8 -13 -2002) I Ordinance 2003- BD- SPC -G- 719 Amending Section 2 -7 -2 of Village Code - Page 2 Section 3 That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law Section 4 That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law PASSED THIS 27th day of May _,2003 Ayes Trustees Aktipis, Craig, Miologos and Yusuf Nays None Absent Trustees Caleel and Korin Abstain None APPROVED THIS 27th day of May , 2003 vt k'V1;' * j Lrati w�'r ' ta�� S • rN xN,ar, ice.` r) Village Clerk Z�� - - , C' e C,--) Approved as to Form Village Attorney WORDDOC /G -ORDS /Safety Pathway Brd 2003 Published 5 -28 -2003 Pamphlet form Date Not Published Paper
