S-1051 - 09/09/2003 - PERSONAL PROPERTY - OrdinancesORDINANCE 2003- PP -EXI -S -1051 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS TO SELL CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY, TO DONATE TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER NOT - FOR - PROFIT AGENCIES ITEMS THAT RECEIVE NO BIDS, AND TO DISPOSE OF ITEMS THAT HAVE NO VALUE WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook, it is no longer necessary or useful to or in the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook to retain the personal property described in the attached list now owned by the Village; and WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook wishes to advertise for bids to sell certain personal property, to donate to school districts and other not - for - profit agencies Items that receive no bids, and to dispose of remaining items. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: Pursuant to Section 11 -76 -4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Chapter 65, III.Comp Stat., 5/11 -76 -4, the corporate authorities find that the personal property described in the attached list is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Oak Brook and the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook will be served by Its receipt of bids, donation, or disposal. Section 2: Pursuant to said Section 11 -76 -4, the Village Manager be and he is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids, to sell the personal property described in the attached list, to donate to school districts and other not - for - profit agencies items that receive no bids, and to dispose of remaining items. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by at least three fourths of all the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
