AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8 -1 -1 (DEFINITIONS)
OF CHAPTER 1 (PUBLIC WORKS REGULATIONS) OF TITLE 8
(PUBLIC WORKS) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE
OF OAK BROOK RELATIVE TO NOXIOUS WEEDS
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Agriculture designates and declares certain plants within
the State of Illinois to be noxious weeds as defined in Title 8, (Agriculture and Animals), Section 220 60,
(Noxious Weeds) of the Illinois Administrative Code, and
WHEREAS, the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook is not currently in conformance with the
list of noxious weeds designated and declared within the Illinois Administrative Code, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village deem it advisable and in the best
interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the citizens of the Village that the Village Code of the
Village of Oak Brook be amended to be in conformance with the Illinois Administrative Code in relation to
noxious weeds
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows
Section 1 Section 8 -1 -1 (Definitions) of Chapter 1 (Public Works Regulations) of Title 8 (Public
Works) of the Village Code is hereby amended by deleting the definition of Noxious Weeds in its
entirety and replacing it with the following
NOXIOUS WEEDS Marihuana, Giant Ragweed, Common Ragweed, Canada Thistle,
Perennial Sowthistle, Musk Thistle, Perennial Members of the
Sorghum Genus, including Johnsongrass, Sorghum Alum, and
Kudzu, or other weeds of a like kind
Section 2 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law
Section 3 All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
