AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING BUSES ON CANTERBERRY LANE AND
AMENDING CHAPTER 1 (TRAFFIC CODE) OF TITLE 7 (MOTOR VEHICLES
AND TRAFFIC) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that in order to protect the public health,
safety and welfare, it is necessary to prohibit the use of Canterberry Lane by any long, wheel -base school
or commercial bus
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows
Section 1 The foregoing preamble is restated and incorporated herein by reference as though
fully set forth herein
Section 2 Chapter 1 of Title 7 of the Village Code is hereby amended by adding the following as
Section 7 -3 -102
BUSES PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS
It shall be unlawful to operate any bus on Canterberry Lane other then a bus designated
and licensed to carry 16 or fewer passengers
Section 3 If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, the
invalidity thereof shall not effect any of the other provisions of this ordinance
Section 4 All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
Section 5 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law
